RAY LOPEZ: RULES OF THE STARS

POMPEI is pleased to present Rules of the Stars by Ray Lopez, a solo show comprised of paintings of portraits, politics, and patterns inspired by cinema, fantasy, and family. Whether an image of his mother or a scene from an Almodóvar film, Ray treats each subject with the same attention, care, and value. Rules of the Stars is a follow up to his first solo show at The Heliopolis Project in 2012 curated by Andy Wolf. 

Ray Lopez was born and raised in Brooklyn and currently lives and works in Morris Park in the Bronx. His work has been exhibited at White Columns, The Point, HAI, The Bronx Art Space, Hudson Guild Gallery, Fountain House, SVA, and the MoMA.

POMPEI is a creative project space and gallery founded by J Grabowski and Jacqueline Pompei. POMPEI is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 2-6 pm, and Monday-Friday, by appointment.
